We had a great time with the kids in May last year and stayed in a house called Anemone. The property is ideally situated to visit Sarlat and the surrounding area. Busy little town with lively market twice a week and many excellent restaurants. Lots to see and do if you have a car....the caves at Lascaux, Rocamadour, Padirac, canoeing on the Dordogne, a dino park for the kids..... The house is clean, comfortable and well-maintained. We had a stay here with our two kids and it was very comfortable.....pleasant sitting out area with BBQ and TV for when the evenings get cooler. The property is lovely to sit in and enjoy the sun with a lot of toys for the kids. We used the swimming pool even at the end of may....in the summer I'm sure it must be invaluable. We flew into Bergerac, a small provincial airport only an hour's drive away. Car hire from the airport was easy. I'd highly recommend this property.

"Les Gites De Carlux" is a small grouping of interconnected gites, with all of the necessary amenities to stay a great independent holiday in the heart of the Dordogne. The location is appropriate for families or groups of people wanting to relax, discover the nature or history or do some sports in the region. The small resort also has its own outdoor swimming pool, with sufficient sunbeds for all guests. The badminton court, table tennis, table soccer, petanque and playground are also available to the visitors of the resort. The playground has seen its best days, but our 2 kids (6 & 8y) enjoyed it very much. You can rent swimming pool toys, rackets and balls at the pool house and get touristic information on what to do in the region. We stayed in the gite called “Anemone”, which is very spacious, clean and has all what you need for sunny or rainy days. The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and holds room for 6 adults (and 1 toddler). The view on Carlux, with its castle, from the terrace of the gite is incredible, certainly with a glass of wine from the Bergerac region accompanied of some crisps or regional sausage or foie gras on a toast. We rented the gite during the 2 first weeks of July, which appeared to be the perfect choice, since most of the guests only arrive around the mid of July until August. The first week of our stay, we had the swimming pool for us alone. It was great! A last positive note is that if you have questions, concerns or something is not going as planned, you always can reach out to the on-site concierge and the owners, who are immediately assisting were they can."Les Gites De Carlux" is a small grouping of interconnected gites, with all of the necessary amenities to stay a great independent holiday in the heart of the Dordogne.
